What is Vancouver Game Expo?
Vancouver Game Expo is an annual gaming expo celebrating gaming culture in all its forms, from indie video games and tabletop to cosplay, fan art, and community. It's organized by a volunteer organization and built to be inclusive and welcoming to everyone, no matter how you game.

Is Vancouver Game Expo family-friendly?

Tickets & Entry
How do I get tickets?
Tickets are available through Eventbrite. We recommend purchasing in advance as the event can sell out. Physical tickets are also available at the door subject to availability.
Are there different ticket types?
We typically offer single-day and weekend passes, as well as reduced-price options for students and youth. Exact ticket tiers and pricing are listed on the Eventbrite page. Details will be confirmed closer to the event date.
Can I get a refund if I can't attend?
Refund eligibility depends on the date of your request and is governed by Eventbrite's refund policy. Please review the event page on Eventbrite for details. If you have extenuating circumstances, contact us and we'll do our best to help.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No, digital tickets on your phone are accepted. Simply have your Eventbrite confirmation ready to scan at the door. We recommend screenshots in case of connectivity issues at the venue.

Venue & Logistics
Where is the event held?
Venue details for the current year will be announced closer to the event date. Past events have been held in Metro Vancouver. Sign up for our newsletter or follow our socials to be notified as soon as the venue is confirmed.
Is there parking available?
Parking information varies by venue and will be included in your ticket confirmation email once the venue is announced. We also encourage attendees to use public transit where possible. Transit options will be detailed in our venue guide.
Is there food available at the event?
Yes, Food & Drink vendors are part of the exhibitor lineup each year. Options typically include snacks, meals, and beverages. Outside food and sealed non-alcoholic beverages are generally permitted, but please check venue-specific rules in the event guide.
Can I leave and re-enter the venue?
Re-entry policies depend on the venue and will be outlined in the event guide distributed to ticket holders. In previous years, wristbands have been used to allow re-entry on the same day. Weekend pass holders have been permitted re-entry across both days.

How do I apply to be an exhibitor or vendor?
Applications open annually and are listed on our Get Involved section. We welcome indie game developers, nerdy vendors, tabletop creators, cosplay artists, and food & drink businesses. Applications are reviewed by our team and confirmed by email.
What does it cost to have a table?
Table fees vary by category and table size. Full pricing details are included in the exhibitor application form. We offer reduced rates for indie developers and first-time exhibitors. Contact us if cost is a barrier. We're committed to keeping the event accessible.
When will the exhibitor list be announced?
The exhibitor lineup is announced in waves as applications are confirmed. Check the Exhibitors page for the most up-to-date list. Final announcements are typically made in the weeks leading up to the event.

Programming & Schedule
When will the full schedule be released?
The full programming schedule is typically released a few weeks before the event. You'll be notified via our newsletter first. Check the Programming page for updates. Event types and descriptions are available now, with specific times and rooms to follow.
Do I need to register for specific programming events?
Most programming is open to all attendees with a valid ticket, no additional registration required. Some competitive events like tournaments may have limited spots and separate sign-up. Details will be confirmed on the schedule page and at the event.
Can I apply to run a panel or host an event?
Yes! We welcome community-led panels, workshops, and events. Applications for programming are part of our annual call for submissions. Details are listed on our Get Involved page when the submission window is open.

Is the event wheelchair accessible?
Accessibility is a priority for us. We select venues with full wheelchair access, including accessible restrooms, level entrances, and wide aisles in the exhibitor hall. Specific accessibility details for the confirmed venue will be published in the event guide.
Is there a quiet room or sensory-friendly space?
We aim to provide a designated quiet room at every event for attendees who need a break from the noise and crowds. Details on location and availability will be in the event guide and posted at the venue on the day.
Do you offer ASL interpretation for panels?
We are working toward offering ASL interpretation for major programming events. If you have specific accessibility needs, please reach out to us in advance so we can do our best to accommodate. We are always looking to improve.

Code of Conduct
Does Vancouver Game Expo have a Code of Conduct?
Yes, and it is strictly enforced. All attendees, exhibitors, volunteers, and guests are expected to treat each other with respect. Harassment, discrimination, and exclusionary behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated. Read the full Code of Conduct before attending.
How do I report a Code of Conduct violation?
If you witness or experience behaviour that violates our Code of Conduct, please approach any staff member or volunteer wearing an event badge, or visit the information desk. Reports can also be submitted anonymously via a form linked in the event guide. All reports are taken seriously.
What happens if someone violates the Code of Conduct?
Depending on the severity of the incident, consequences range from a formal warning to immediate removal from the event without refund. Our team will investigate all reports and act accordingly. We are committed to making this a safe space for everyone.

How do I volunteer at the event?
We rely on volunteers to make the event run. Volunteer applications open annually and are posted on our Get Involved page. Volunteers typically receive a complimentary event pass in exchange for their shifts. We welcome all experience levels.
